Germany is at the forefront of renewable energy technologies and Hamburg is a leading centre for renewable energy industries and research institutions. The HAW Hamburg is a key player in the city’s energy cluster and renewable energy engineering is a major discipline supported by teaching and research at the university’s energy campus.
The international Master's programme in Renewable Energy Systems looks at the technology and engineering of wind, solar and bio-energy systems as well as downstream systems for energy transformation and distribution. The programme’s focus is on systems engineering. In addition, graduates learn the techniques of process simulation and can also develop their business and management skills. The programme is made up of two semesters of theory and practical lab work and a six-month Master’s thesis in industry.
